Hermitages, Castles, Churches, tabernacles and medieval cobblestone are the clues that make us understand that we are on the path of the Via Francigena, the ancient communication route that from Northern Europe lead the pilgrims to Rome. Even today a growing number of people travels the route, some for worship reasons, others for curiosity to discover the echoes of the past, with the same emotions, the silence, the deepness and the spirituality that belong to this historical route.
We will walk across one of the most beautiful parts of the Via Francigena in Tuscany, encountering holm oak and oak woods, grain fields, vineyards and olive groves.
For the photographic contributions Kilometro Inverso would like to thank Giovanni Cappelli and Elisabetta Giuliani.
